Resolving chronic and resistant diseases by integrating a Functional Medicine model by distinguishing what is optimal from what is within the range of normal limits and by integrating all the factors that may have contributed to the disease. In a functional framework, as opposed to acute diseases which usually have only one cause, chronic diseases are understood as the end-result of multiple aggressions on an already weakened and/or overwhelmed body.
Blending the best of conventional medicine with 35 years of clinical experience, Board Certification in Family Medicine and trained in Functional Medicine., Dr. Mass is highly skilled in treating chronic illnesses. Dr. Mass acquired expertise in tick-borne diseases and in mold toxicity through the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS) and by the International Society of Environmentally Acquired Illnesses (ISEAI). He also treats mold exposure and metal toxicity. Dr. Mass is a member of the PANDAs Physican Network (PPN).
In addition to board certification from the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Mass is a graduate from the French Medical School and is a French native. He completed his residency at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, and participated in the Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker’s physician training program in in-door toxicity.
Dr. Mass prioritizes the patient's experience when creating a customized treatment protocol. The decision to proceed with treatment follows after a comprehensive and educational discussion about what the protocol time table will be and what to expect. Some patients join our practice after completing several rounds of treatments from other medical providers. Dr. Mass' starting protocol considers the patient's sensitivity and capacity. He advocates for collaborating with other medical and health providers to deliver patient-centered care from a team of experts.
Mass Functional Medicine integrates the best of health tech tools with high quality personal patient care. We employ a digital electronic medical records (EMR) system, and a texting service. Both platforms are HIPPA compliant and secure for patient communications with our office. New patients are onboarded through our online patient portal - Cerbo. We have partnered with Fullscript, an online pharmacy, to drop ship quality products for the treatment protocol directly to the patient. We update our website regularly with helpful information for our patient community.
